(JOHNSON CO.) - Police were searching for two armed suspects after a Johnson County couple’s home was burglarized early Wednesday.
Just before 2:30 a.m., Johnson County sheriff's deputies were sent to a home in the 5100 block of Chancery Boulevard on reports of a burglary. When police arrived, they found a couple who told them that two armed burglars broke into their home through a downstairs basement window.
The couple said the burglars tied them up with zip ties before forcing them to show them where their valuables were located in the home. One of the homeowners said she was forced to remove some valuable items that she was wearing.
The suspects, described as two men, fled the home to an awaiting vehicle, investigators said.
Sheriff Doug Cox said later in the day Wednesday that investigators had not yet found the men. He said they still need the public's help in tracking them down.
"(Does) maybe a store clerk remember someone suspicious in their store prior to the incident?" He asked. "Maybe someone who has a friend that has come into cash or jewelry and is acting strange?"
Investigators ask anyone with information about the incident or anyone with surveillance video from the areas surrounding Kensington Grove addition or Center Grove High School near Morgantown Road to call detectives at 317-736-9155 or 317-346-4604.
