(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers arrested a man Monday after they say he disarmed an officer.
According to police report, it happened in the 3700 block of East 38th Street, during a routine traffic stop.
When officers pulled the car over, they spotted an assault rifle under some clothing in the back of the Trailblazer. The officers pulled the driver and a passenger out of the car. As officer's tried to place the driver, Endrice Lacy, 27, under arrest, a struggle ensued and at one point Lacy grabbed the officer's gun. During the struggle, the officer got his gun back, but Lacy took off.
Police also arrested the passenger, Romeo Johnson,31, and preliminarily charged him with possession of marijuana, receiving stolen property and having a hand gun without a license.
Investigators tracked Lacy down and preliminarily charged him with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and disarming a law enforcement officer.
