(SCOTT CO.) - 62-year-old Dennis Godsave from Greenwood, IN died in a truck fire accident Sunday around 5 p.m., on Interstate 65 in Scott Co. according to Indiana State Police.
Good Samaritans were able to pull 9-year-old Andrew Godsave and his 62-year-old grandmother, Sandra Godsave, also from Greenwood, IN, from the burning truck. However, they were unable to rescue the driver, Dennis Godsave, from the truck on fire.
A vehicle driven by nineteen year old Natalie Bomar, from Mt Washington, KY, was southbound on I-65, when for an unknown reason she went into the median on the east side of the road, crossing through the cable barriers into the northbound lanes of Interstate 65.
When Bomar's car entered the north bound lanes she struck the pickup truck pulling an enclosed trailer, which then went off of the east side of the Interstate and burst into flames.
Natalie Bomar and Sandra Godsave were transported to University Hospital in Louisville, KY and Andrew Godsave went to Kosair Children's Hospital. All three sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Indiana State Police are investigating the accident, assisted by Clark and Scott County Sheriff's Departments.
