(KNIGHTSTOWN) - Police have arrested a man for threats that caused the lockdown of schools in Henry County Friday.
Jackson Messer, 20, who is living temporarily in Knightstown, was arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of Intimidation. Police say Messer made a threat Thursday on a social media service that he was "gonna go put on some lip gloss and shoot up a school."
Schools in the Charles A. Beard district were placed on lockdown while police investigated the threat. Detectives located Messer in the Knightstown area around noon and placed him under arrest.
The school district's superintendent issued this statement about the lockdown:
"Earlier today, we received what we believe to be credible information involving a threat made towards our schools. Working closely with local law enforcement, the decision was made to put schools safety protocols in to place. At this time, all Charles A Beard schools are on lockdown.
