(VIGO CO.) - Police are investigating the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman Saturday night north of Terre Haute.
Indiana State Police Detectives from the Putnamville Post say the bodies were found on private property near US 150 and Pennington Road in northwestern Vigo County.
The discovery was made by people riding ATV's in the area around 10 p.m. Saturday. The bodies were found under a small bridge next to an abandoned house at 7400 Pennington Road.
Investigators believe the victims have been deceased for a few days. The bodies are partially decomposed, but appear to be an adult male and adult female of middle age or older. Due to the decomposition, positive identification may take a few days. Autopsies are scheduled for Monday.
Investigators believe the male and female were in a relationship prior to their death and therefore don't believe there is a threat to public safety in the area.
