(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two teenagers were arrested for robbing a woman at gunpoint on the Monon Trail Sunday.
Police arrested 18-year-old Stanley Knight and a 14-year-old boy on felony charges of robbery and criminal confinement.
The 23-year-old female victim told police the two males approached her in the 3500 block of the trail around 7:30 p.m. Sunday and pointed a small silver handgun in her face, demanding that she get on the ground and give him her cell phone. The man took her iPhone and mace before the suspects fled to the south.
A witness told police the suspects approached him on the trail, but he pedaled away from them and saw them approach the female victim. He returned to check on the woman after the suspects left the scene.
Police stopped the suspects at 30th and Guilford. Officers found the 14-year-old in possession of the victim's mace and the handgun believed to have been used in the robbery. Knight had the victim's iPhone in his possession.
Both suspects were taken into custody on preliminary charges. The 14-year-old is also facing a misdemeanor charge of having a handgun without a license.
