(COLUMBUS) - Several area venues have reported finding a man on their premises after they have closed for the day.
Indiana University Police say the man, possibly identified as Patrick A. Campbell, is hiding out in restrooms or unsecured rooms and then makes his way through the facility after most people have left for the day.
IU authorities say he was recently found in an office at the IU Center for Art and Design in Columbus at 11 p.m. He was allegedly using a university computer to access pornographic websites.
The man has been found in several surrounding county hospitals, including Columbus Regional Health, as well as local apartment complexes and area churches. The suspect occasionally becomes agitated and belligerent when found and asked to leave.
If this subject is Campbell, caution should be used when encountering him. He does have a criminal history that includes violent felonies. In after hours situations, it may be best to call police. There have been no reported cases of this man hurting anyone locally but IU Police say his motivations and level of mental fitness are unknown.
University authorities are working closely with local police on this issue. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this person should contact Lt. Douglas Johnson with the IU Police Department at 348-7388.
