(SPEED) - Black smoke could be seen for miles this evening when a fire broke out at a Southern Indiana cement plant.
WDRB reports, smoke and flames poured out of the Essroc Cement plant shortly after 5:30 this evening.
Emergency crews and several fire trucks from Sellersburg responded to the blaze.
Fire Chief Boyce Adams says that nobody was injured, and the fire was contained to a bag room area, which is where he says it started.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
The cement plant is located in Speed Indiana on Highway 31 across from Sellersburg High School.
