(NORTH VERNON) - Five people were arrested on meth-related charges following the discovery of a large, active meth lab in the basement of a home in the Crystal Glades Subdivision near North Vernon late Friday night.
Maj. Jerry Shepherd, with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office, says 52-year-old Kimberly M. Murray of North Vernon, 41-year-old Kenneth R. Barnett of Columbus, 23-year-old Thomas W. Tucker of Freetown, 20-year-old Jarod W. Nolker of North Vernon, and 21-year-old Katlyn D. Vera of North Vernon are all charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of two or more precursors, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of syringes.
Barnett was also wanted on two warrants from Bartholomew County on drug-related charges including possession and manufacturing of meth.
All five are being held in the Jennings County Jail.
Shepherd says the sheriff's office served a search warrant at at 4840 N. Sunset Glades Blvd. where the meth lab along with numerous other items that are used in the manufacturing and selling of the illegal substance were found. Police also found marijuana, paraphernalia and numerous syringes in the home.
Shepherd says the investigation continues at this time with more arrests anticipated.
