"Flexible'' IndyGo Buses Hit The Streets Monday

Last updated on Tuesday, November 19, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - You will see more of those IndyGo “bendy buses” starting Monday in downtown Indianapolis.

The 60-foot-long buses feature an accordion-like middle that allows a lot of flexibility when turning corners. They're 50 percent longer and can hold up to 20 more passengers.

There will be 17 of the refurbished IndyGo buses. The buses were phased out in the 1990s.

Refurbishing those IndyGo buses cost the city $400,000 per bus.
