(MOORESVILLE) - The state’s latest nature preserve has opened in central Indiana’s Morgan County.
The Central Indiana Land Trust says the Fred and Dorothy Meyer Nature Preserve opened to the public Tuesday for hiking, bird watching and other pursuits. The 69-acre preserve is located off State Road 67 south of Mooresville on Observatory Road.
The Central Indiana Land Trust says it protected the acreage from future development in three different land transactions.
The preserve is named in part for Fred Meyer, who served on the board of the Indiana chapter of The Nature Conservancy and played a role in getting the state's first dedicated nature preserve established in 1969.
