(RICHMOND) - A prosecutor’s spokeswoman says raids on two eastern Indiana restaurants Monday are part of a multi-county investigation
The Palladium-Item reports the Indiana State Police on Monday raided two Richmond locations of El Rodeo, a Mexican restaurant chain.
Peg McLeish of the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indianapolis says it is leading the investigation with Tippecanoe County, but had little else to say. She says state police are executing search warrants.
Six police cars, all but one unmarked, roared up to one Richmond location shortly before 11 a.m. Monday and blocked customers from walking inside. At the same time, officers raided the other Richmond location and closed it for the lunch hour as well.
Attempts to reach the restaurants by telephone Monday afternoon were unsuccessful.
