(INDIANAPOLIS) - A manager carrying cash out of a store on the city’s east side early Wednesday was sprayed with pepper spray before he was robbed, police said.
The robbery happened just before 6:30 a.m. at the Family Dollar near 46th Street and Arlington Avenue when the store manager was carrying five clear bags of cash from the store to the bank for a deposit.
As the manager walked out of the store, he said a man popped out from behind a soda machine, sprayed the manager in the face with pepper spray and ran off with the cash.
Detectives said the bags contained thousands of dollars and they're reviewing surveillance video to get a description of the robber.
