(GREENSBURG) - Thursday morning one person was killed and three others injured in a two vehicle crash in Decatur County.
According to Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Howell, at approximately 10:26 a.m. a 911 call came into Decatur County dispatch reporting a two vehicle crash on the S.R. 3 Bypass at Carver Street in Greensburg.
According to a police report, a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 55-year-old Margaret L. Folkman, of Batesville, was northbound on S.R. 3 approaching Carver Street. When a 2005 Pontiac Vibe driven by 57-year-old Linda L. Phillips, of Rushville, was southbound on S.R. 3 approaching Carver Street.
Both vehicles had the green light however Phillips failed to yield and turned left onto Carver Street into the path of the Suburban.
The Suburban struck the Vibe in the passenger side.
Phillips' husband, 65-year-old Stephen B. Phillips, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple injuries.
Linda Phillips was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with severe chest injuries.
Folkman and her passenger, 77-year-old Carol A. Firsich, of Greensburg, were both taken to Decatur County Hospital in a private vehicle after complaining of pain to their lower extremities.
Trooper Howell was assisted at the scene by Trooper David Noah. Also assisting was Decatur County Sheriff's Department, Greensburg Police Department, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, and Decatur County Coroner. The investigation is continuing.
