(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Hoosier Lottery listed close to 400,000 Hoosiers as winners after Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing.
The $636 million jackpot was split between two tickets sold in California and Georgia but several players in Indiana won smaller payouts.
A variety of combinations of matching numbers and/or the "mega ball" could win a range of $1 to $1 million.
Any ticket sold that matched solely the "mega ball" would receive $1, the price of the original ticket.
In Indiana, 13 tickets matched four out of five numbers and the players chose to pay an extra dollar for the "megaplier" option for a payout of $2,000. A combination of four numbers and the mega ball earned 11 tickets $5,000 and one ticket in the same scenario opted for the megaplier quadrupling the payout to $20,000.
Tickets can be checked on the Hoosier Lottery's Mega Millions website or at any lottery retailer where clerks scan original tickets for any possible payouts.
The Hoosier Lottery reported sales for the Dec. 17 drawing totaled $5,979,083 in Indiana. More than $4.1 million of the ticket sales were spent on Tuesday alone.
