(UNDATED) - It wasn’t quite the ordeal Steve Martin and John Candy dealt with in Planes, Trains and Automobiles but the Pacers had some travel adventures on the way to their next game. T
he voice of the Pacers Mark Boyle told the Grady and Big Joe Show that their plane from Salt Lake City to San Antonio was diverted to Houston due to foggy conditions in San Antonio.
Boyle says due to the last minute changes, the team had to find three buses and were not able to leave the Houston airport till about 12:30am.
One of the buses, which contained Boyle, other broadcasters, trainers, etc. broke down about an hour from Houston. He says they finally got the bus up and running and made it to Houston around 10:30am eastern time.
Fortunately for everyone involved with the team, they don't play again till Saturday, so they have time to recoup from their adventures on the road.
The 17-2 Pacers take on the 15-3 Spurs at 8:30 Saturday night.
