(TERRE HAUTE) - An autopsy conducted Saturday shows that a heart attack was the cause of death of an Indiana State Police Trooper found dead in his home Friday afternoon.
A friend found 52-year-old Cpl. Michael Capicik unresponsive in the bathroom of his South Center Street home shortly after noon on Friday.
Capicik, who was assigned to the Putnamville State Police Post, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy conducted late Saturday afternoon at Terre Haute Regional Hospital determined the cause of death was a heart attack and the manner of death was natural causes.
Capicik was scheduled to retire in January of 2014, after 28 years of service with the ISP. He been with the Indiana State Police since 1985.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and will be made public as soon as they are finalized.
