(INDIANAPOLIS) - Teenage brothers have been arrested for the murder of a man who thought he was meeting them to buy an iPad featured in a Craigslist ad.
Police arrested 19-year-old Tryon Kincade and his 18-year-old brother Tyshaune and preliminarily charged them with murder and robbery. The Kincade brothers were allegedly involved in the shooting death of James Vester on Wyckford Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot at the Wyckford Commons apartments, 32-year-old Jim Vester arrived to make the iPad purchase, only to be met with gunfire.
Police won't comment on the investigation, but friends say Jim, a sergeant first class in the National Guard, was armed with a handgun. They also say the suspects got away with nothing.
Now, friends and strangers have come together to support his wife Jamie Vester and their one-year-old son, Gavin, raising more than five times their initial goal of $10,000.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make a final decision on charges against the brothers after reviewing the case. Both teenagers are being held without bond in the Marion County Jail.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Cornerstone Christian Church, 8930 North State Road 267, Brownsburg. Burial with military honors will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the church.
A fundraising website has been set up to help Vester's family.
