(KOSCIUSKO COUNTY) - Indiana State police detectives in Peru are investigating a bank robbery that ended in a suicide on Friday.
Officers say at 6 p.m. Friday evening, a lone, allegedly armed, male suspect entered the First Financial Bank in North Manchester and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and got on a bicycle and rode a short distance to a pick up truck.
Police from the North Manchester Police Department caught up to him and attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspect stopped his vehicle at State Road 13 just north of State Road 14.
As he was being given numerous verbal commands by officers, he reportedly turned his firearm on himself inside of his truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner.
