(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former Indianapolis Metro Police Officer David Bisard has agreed to plead guilty to one count of drunk driving as a result of a crash that occurred in April 2013.
A plea hearing is set for Feb. 5, 2014.
Prosecutors intend to argue for a maximum one-year prison term to be added onto the 13 years Bisard was already sentenced to in connection with his August 2010 crash. Eric Wells died in the 2010 crash and Kurt Weekly and Mary Mills were critically injured. Blood tests showed Bisard's blood alcohol content to be .19 at the time of the 2010 crash, but Bisard denied being drunk and blamed the results on botched testing.
Bisard did not appear at Tuesday's court hearing.
The current case involves Bisard's arrest in April 2013, when police say he was driving drunk when he crashed his pick-up truck.
