28-year-old Chamika Bellamy, 25-year-old Whittney Hood, 18-year-old Infinity Bey-Davis and 31-year-old Ishika Cross were arrested Monday on charges of forgery and theft, receiving stolen property.
According to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report, Bellamy, Hood and a juvenile were shopping at the T.J. Maxx located at 50 N. Illinois Street and purchased several purses and other items using approximately $1,000 in counterfeit cash. Police said the cashier was Bey-Davis.
The suspects were transported to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for questioning. According to the report, Hood and Bellamy admitted to using counterfeit money to purchase the goods. Police said Bey-Davis admitted to knowing about the scheme and said she was going to be paid $200 for her involvement.
