(GREENWOOD) - A Johnson County resident awoke to a knock on the door and a burning cross in the front yard in the middle of the night, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
WISH TV8 reports that a sheriff's deputy was able to follow tracks in the snow to a home, where they found a 16-year-old and 17-year-old. One of the teens had been drinking. Police called his mother to pick him up.
The home was in a neighborhood near County Road 1000 North and Morgantown Road. The homeowner told police he went to bed and woke up when someone knocked on the door. When he opened the door, he saw the small, burning cross in the front yard.
Police submitted a report to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.
