(ELWOOD) - It took the Elwood Police Department the better part of a day, but they got their man.
The "Herald-Bulletin" reports a man accused of beating and attempting to strangle an Elwood woman was arrested after police searched for him for almost an entire day.
The 30-year old man, Aron Smith, was taken into custody and charged with several crimes, including a Class D felony for strangulation, a Class D felony for domestic battery, a Class B felony for aggravated battery, and several other lesser charges.
Police say the crime occurred around 1:00 AM on New Years Day in Elwood.
