(INDIANAPOLIS) - Many people waited in long lines at Indianapolis International Airport Sunday as several inches of snow fell in the city.
Airport spokesman Carlo Bertolini says about 130 flights, both arriving and departing, were canceled. He says only about one in four flights actually operated.
Bertolini says if you're heading to the airport it's best to check the status of your flight before leaving the house. He says to check directly with your airline to see if your flight has been delayed or canceled.
Bertolini adds the extremely cold temperatures expected in Indy won't be as much of a problem as the snowfall itself. He says the issue will just be de-icing the planes and runways for which the airport and airlines are prepared.
