(INDIANAPOLIS) - A woman’s body was found in the backyard of a home on the city’s far-west side Monday morning, police dispatchers said.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said the woman was found at a home in the in the 6700 block of Carlsen Avenue. She appeared to have suffered a heart attack and police said that her death may have been cold-weather related.
Police told RTV6 reporter Julie Pursley that the woman's son found her body on the back patio of the home. It appeared that she had been trying to sweep a path in the snow.
The woman's name has not been released but investigators described her as elderly. Police are still at the scene gathering information.
