(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former IUPUI teaching assistant will not face rape charges after confessing to the crime.
The 39-year-old man now living in Carmel walked into the Marion County Sheriff's office downtown and confessed to raping a student back in 2005, saying his guilty conscience had been weighing on him.
RTV6 reports IUPUI campus police found the woman and filed a report, however, prosecutors can't charge the man because of the statute of limitations on rape in Indiana is five years.
