(UNDATED) - INDOT has begun working around the clock to repair hundreds of potholes cracked open by weeks of foul weather.
Crews will work alternating 12-hour shifts, either using their own portable lights or renting them to allow work to continue overnight.
Governor Pence calls the repair blitz a "surge," and says it will continue until all holes on state highways are repaired. He says INDOT will also activate asphalt plants which normally are shuttered for the winter to supply local governments with additional patching material.
INDOT will pay the overtime costs out of its existing budget.
INDOT has established a fillable web form at potholes.in.gov for the public to report potholes. The agency will also take reports through a newly-created Twitter account @INDOTPotholes, or by phone at 866-849-1-DOT.
Pence says INDOT has put in 81-thousand man-hours of pothole work already.
