(INDIANAPOLIS) - A Republican state senator is being called up to military service during the final days of the 2014 session.
Senate President Pro Tem David Long announced Tuesday that Republican Sen. Jim Banks of Columbia City had been called up beginning the last week of the 2014 session.
Banks serves in the Navy Reserve as a supply corps officer. Long said the Senate is proud of Banks' service and said that Banks has taken steps to ensure his legislative priorities are shepherded through the final week
The 2014 session is scheduled to end March 15.
