(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Senate is expected to vote today on the constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage.
If the revised version is approved, the three-step process of amending the state constitution restarts.
The Indiana House passed the proposal last month after removing the second sentence that would have banned civil unions. Last week, the Senate didn't move to restore the original language because they didn't have the support needed to pass it.
HJR3 has been a lightening rod for debate among proponents and opponents.
