(FORT WAYNE) - Fort Wayne police were called to the 1400-block of W. Wallen Road around 1:33 p.m. Saturday on a report of a battery. Officers found a two-month-old boy injured when they arrived.
The baby boy was taken to a hospital where he was declared to be in critical condition. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and a person of interest and Crime Scene personnel are processing the scene for evidence.
Police did not release the nature of the baby's injuries or how they might have happened. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed. The relationship between the infant and the person of interest will be released later, the media release from police said.
The Department of Child Services, police and the prosecutor's office are all still investigating.
