(MORGAN CO.) - Morgan County ran out of salt Sunday.
Highway Department Superintendent Jim Waggoner said Sunday morning's snow and ice required crews to throw down the last of the County's salt supplies. Now, crews are left with using their plows and sand to deal with the afternoon and evening snowfall.
Waggoner says two shipments of salt were supposed to arrive during the last week of February. However, the supplier never made the delivery.
Crews are now having to change their plan of attack as the face the latest round of snow. With the last of the salt already on the roads, the Highway Department is holding off on plowing until the snow stops. Crews will then focus on spreading sand on the hills.
