(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indiana state lawmaker and some animal lovers are fighting on numerous fronts to tackle the state’s homeless pet “overpopulation crises.”
State Representative Linda Lawson and Indianapolis Animal Care and Control officials will be on hand this morning to surrender 109 homeless dogs and cats to animal shelter officials from Lewiston, Maine.
Lawson says Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts have stronger spay and neutering laws and consequently, lower animal shelter populations.
