(UNDATED) - Officials with Indianapolis Public Schools will be launching what is being called an “historic program”.
The school district has 11 of their priority schools that currently have a "D" or "F" school ranking. That prompted the school district to partner with The Mind Trust and the city to launch the Innovation School Fellowship.
The goal--- to attract anyone interested in creating school programs to help children in those low-performing schools succeed.
The Mind Trust will award up to nine Fellowships over three years. The newly created program leaders will have the ability to hire their own teachers and staff and that they would not be part of the collective bargaining agreements.
