(VEVAY) - Southeastern Indiana police say a man working for a logging company died when he became pinned beneath a tree he had just cut down.
The Switzerland County Sheriff's Department says Richard E. Hunter of Osgood died in Tuesday morning's accident in the Ohio River county.
The Madison Courier reports police believe Hunter had attempted to cut a tree down, but it got stuck in another tree.
Police say that when Hunter than began cutting down the tree holding that tree up, it shifted and fell to the ground, striking and fatally pinning him.
The county's sheriff's department and coroner's office continue to investigate Hunter's death. Police say Hunter had worked for a Batesville-based logging company. His age was not immediately available.
