(PLAINFIELD) - Hendricks County officials are trying to identify a person who died in a car fire early Sunday morning in Plainfield.
The Sheriff's Department got a call just after 3 a.m. about an accident at County Road 300 South and Center Street in Plainfield. When deputies arrived, they found a vehicle on its roof and engulfed in flames.
Officials say the driver died in the accident. No one else was in the car.
Investigators say the driver ran off the roadway, struck a tree and sign, then came back onto the roadway where it flipped and eventually fire. They say speed was a factor in the accident.
