(UNDATED ) - This is National Infant Immunization Week. Indiana has been chosen as the launch site by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to call attention to the state’s immunization successes.
State Health Commissioner William Van Ness II says many states are looking at Indiana's MyVaxIndiana and CHIRP programs.
Van Ness says Indiana currently ranks third in the nation for the percentage of pre-teens receiving meningococcal and Tdap vaccines.
Assistant U.S. Surgeon General Anne Schuchat will be touring the state speaking about the importance of vaccines.
