(AURORA) - Police in southeastern Indiana say twin 2-year-old girls have died after being found in a neighbor’s swimming pool.
The Dearborn County Sheriff's Department says the girls were reported missing Tuesday evening from their home near the town of Aurora.
Sgt. John Vance tells WLWT-TV that the girls were found more than an hour later by a neighbor and firefighter in an above-ground pool a couple houses away in the area about 20 miles west of Cincinnati. The pool had tarp over it with standing water.
Both girls were rushed to a hospital in Lawrenceburg, where they were pronounced dead.
Sgt. Max Socks tells WCPO-TV that foul play isn't suspected in the deaths.
The names of the girls weren't immediately released.
