(RICHMOND) - A teenager was found dead in Richmond Sunday morning, and investigators believe the case is a homicide.
Police were called to an alley in the 200 block between 14th and 15th streets just before 8:00 a.m. Detectives found 17-year-old Caleb Woosley dead at the scene. They are investigating the crime as a homicide, but have not released the exact cause of death.
Neighbors said they heard some yelling overnight, but thought nothing of it. The thought, they say, of a teen being murdered is difficult to understand.
"It's a baby," said Rod Snider. "17 is still a baby. When you got much more life ahead of you....It's just a shame."
We don't know much about Woosley. His family said they were too distraught to speak about what happened. They did provide a picture of their son, though, hoping it might generate some leads in the case and hoping that whoever is responsible is brought to justice.
As of Sunday evening, police had not arrested anyone or named any suspects in this case.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Muncie.
