(LOUISVILLE) - Pre-race favorite California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby, pulling away on the homestretch Saturday to win the 140th running of the famed horse race.
The outcome gave jockey Victor Espinoza his second Kentucky Derby victory.
California Chrome, which entered the race at 2-1 odds, managed to outpace a crowded field of 19 horses.
Commanding Curve finished second and Danza was third.
