(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus family is homeless after a house fire Tuesday morning.
Columbus Fire Department Captain Mike Wilson says firefighters were called to the home at 2013 Cherry Street at 8:50 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the basement and ground level of the home
Battalion Chief Dan Cleland advised the firefighters that the structural integrity of the home may have been affected by the fire in the basement.
Firefighters attacked the basement fire first and had the blaze under control after about 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross was called to assist the family with temporary shelter.
Damage to the home was estimated at $80,000.
