(NATIONAL HARBOR, MD) - An Indiana teen has advanced to today’s semifinals in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Alekhya Ankaraju is an eighth-grader at Carmel Middle School.
14 Hoosier kids hoped to spell their way to the top, but that number dwindled after the first preliminary rounds of competition.
