(INDIANAPOLIS) - Some 300 Indianapolis-based Pepsi workers walked off the job Thursday.
Teamsters Local 135 Spokesman Jeff Combs says they're officially on strike. They picketed outside the Pepsi distribution facility on the city's far northwest side. He says their last contract expired Saturday.
The union rejected the company's latest five-year contract offer.
Combs says at issue are health care costs and retirement. He says they're being asked to pay a much larger share. Combs says Pepsi workers make $17-$19 an hour.
He adds doesn't know how long the strike will last or what the next move will be.
