Worker Hurt At Peabody Coal Mine

(GIBSON CO.) - A worker is injured at the Peabody Coal Mine near Francisco in Gibson County.

Sergeant Bruce Vanoven with the Gibson County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 12:30 Tuesday morning.

He says a worker's leg was injured and a helicopter was called to the mine.

The worker was taken to the hospital, but right now there's no word on the extent of those injuries.
