(HARRISON CO.) - An afternoon joy ride turned deadly for a southern Indiana teen Saturday.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from an ATV just before 5 p.m. in the 3600 block of Tee Drive in Harrison County.
A spokesperson with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office said the teen driver of the ATV lost control, hit a tree, spun and hit another tree. The 17-year-old passenger was thrown off the vehicle and killed.
The ATV's driver was taken to the Harrison County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
