(INDIANAPOLIS) - Construction work is on hold Monday inside the Deep Rock Tunnel Connector as city and state investigators determine how a construction worker died there on Friday.
25-year-old William Isaac Simpson died early Friday morning while working on the project 250 feet below ground.
The entrance is along South Tibbs Avenue, but Simpson was deep inside the tunnel under downtown indianapolis.
Citizens Energy says he was one of eight to ten workers from SKJV Construction working in the tunnel at the time of the accident. No one else was hurt.
