(FRANKFORT) - Frankfort Fire Department was called to the Coomer & Sons Sawmill around 10:30 PM Monday night on a fire.
Several tanker trucks and aerial trucks were needed to fight the fire at the pallet and mulch facility on the northwest side of town. Explosions could be heard from propane tanks, but no hazardous materials were known to be there and no evacuation of the surrounding neighborhood was necessary.
Frankfort Fire Department off duty personnel were called in to help staff the town's other fire needs during the fire. The sawmill has been in business since 1978 and firefighters say it is a total loss.
