(HOPE) - A fire near Hope destroyed a garage and body shop Tuesday night in Old St. Louis.
The Hope Star-Journal reports the fire started at around 5 p.m. at Jim Lobdell's Garage and Body Shop on County Road 800N near 670E.
Larry Simpson with the Hope paper reports that the fire started in the rear corner of the building. Several volunteer fire departments responded to the blaze.
Simpson said that tanker trucks returned to the Hope Town Square throughout the evening to fill their trucks from Hope fire hydrants to fight the fire.
The garage was nestled between residential structures.
