(EVANSVILLE) - The suspect in an Evansville stabbing is now in custody.
According to the Vanderburgh County Jail website, 43-year-old Titus Chambers is facing an attempted murder charge, and was just booked into jail.
Evansville Police tell us Chambers turned himself in at the jail Tuesday morning.
Police had been looking for him ever since a domestic violence run Monday morning on Ravenswood.
When officers arrived at the scene, the victim stated she was stabbed by Chambers. She said two 11-year-old children witnessed the incident.
Police say the victim appeared to have been stabbed six or seven times in her chest. They say she also suffered what appeared to be defensive slashing wounds to her arms and hands.
EPD says Chambers fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She is listed in stable condition.
Chambers is being held on a $70,000 bond.
