(JEFFERSONVILLE) - A Kentucky man convicted of a deadly shooting at a southern Indiana apartment complex has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Many people wept inside a Clark County courtroom as the mother of 25-year-old shooting victim Paris Hamilton testified during Monday's sentencing hearing. The News and Tribune reports Vanessa Goodloe told 29-year-old Antonio Walker of Louisville that she will pray for him but hopes he thinks about her son and two granddaughters during his prison time.
A jury in April convicted Walker of murder for shooting Hamilton during a November 2012 fight at a Jeffersonville apartment complex.
Walker apologized in court for the shooting, saying he didn't intend to kill anyone.
