(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police are searching for two men who attacked a teenager after forcing their way into his family’s home overnight.
The attack happened in the 5400 block of East 34th Street around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Police say the 16-year-old was returning home from a gas station down the street, where he had bought a snack. As the teen was standing on his front porch, getting ready to enter his house, police say two men came up behind him, one holding a gun to his head, demanding he let them in the house.
As the boy opened the door, his father made a noise inside the home that startled the suspects. The men grabbed the boy's mother's purse from next to door and pistol whipped the teen before fleeing the home.
Investigators say the teenager was not seriously injured, but are anxious to catch the suspects, who they describe as armed and desperate. Police have no description of the suspects, but are asking anyone who may have information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
